Am I the only one?
OK - I am posting this in response to the last comment posted regarding spoilers…Am I the only one on this RAL who has NOT read the books before now? I do not recall reading anything about this when I signed up - so I guess I am just wondering.
Connie, this is my first time reading the books, but between the existing movies and endless Internet discussions, I already knew the “big” stuff from books 5 and 6. That’s part of the reason I’m looking forward to gulping down the last book, hopefully before the spoilers get out!
I’ve read all the books(most numerous times). I joined this readalong so that I would have a set timeframe to reread them and forum to discuss more detailed points within the overall plot. I’ve made an effort not post about stuff that isn’t in the book we are currently reading(or one already read).
As for book 7, I don’t plan on being online or watching TV or even talking to anyone outside my immediate family until I’m done reading. It’s probably the ONLY way anyone will have a chance to read the book without hearing about it first.
I have read all the books previously and seen movies 1-4. I assumed that we would discuss the books in order and did not necessarily think everyone was already familiar with the plot lines. I would say that the book from the current week (Order of the Phoenix) and previous weeks are fair game to be discussed. I think anything else should have a spoiler warning.
I certainly understand not wanting to have an ending spoiled — my sister-in-law read book 6 before I did and decided to call me and tell me what happened. Arrrrggghhhhh. (Yes, I warned her not to do that this time!)
I have read all the books. im on your side, cportlas. if poeple complain about spoilers, they should not read them!
