Questions Unanswered
Now that we are coming closer to the end and the release of DH, I was wondering about the answers you want from Book 7. What has your rereading of the books made you more curious about? What are the big questions (”Snape: evil or good?”; “Harry: Live or Die?”)? What are the little, less relevant ones (”What does the Giant Squid do at night when no one is looking?”)
Also, I was curious about those of us who have reread the books what we forgot and what we found interesting that may come into play again in Book 7. Any new or forgotten discoveries?
Of course, there are the big questions you mentioned that I want answered. But I also want to know why Voldemort didn’t want to kill Lilly? I want to know if James’s family is somehow related to Godric Gryffindor. And I want to know if Mrs. Norris is really just a cat(the same with Crookshanks).
I didn’t have any real revelations as I reread the books(although I’m still reading HBP). It’s been a while since I reread the whole series and I have to say I can’t wait until I sit down and reread all of them including book 7. After watching the movies I forgot all the detail that you miss in books–it’s wonderful
I’d like to know how Dumbledore got James Potter’s cloak to give to Harry.
Why can house elves pop in and out magically at Hogwarts, but people can’t.
What is up with Nevelle’s toad? If there a reason he keeps trying to escape.
Why was Snape the first to survive the Dark Arts teacher curse? Or is it just that in book 7 school will be closed so he won’t teach a 2nd year?
Who is R.A.B? Is it Regulas Black? If it is, why did he turn against V.
And of course the big questions.
Too many questions! My biggest one right now is Snape - good or evil? I really need to know that one. Having just finished book 5 I want to know about that arch with the veil - what was it? What was the whispering and why were Ron and Hermione not affected? What will Wormtail do - why was it good that Harry let him live? And will there be a point to all that stuff about SPEW? Will house elves play a role?!
I want to know if originally Dobby didn’t belong to the Potter family. Is that why he’s so loyal to Harry?
Snape only teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts in one story. In the rest, he’s the Potions teacher. That’s how he escapes that one.
